What is an Audiologist?

Audiologists are health-care professionals who evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage hearing loss, balance disorders, and tinnitus in individuals of all ages from infants and teens to adults and the elderly.

What is an ENT?

ENTs treat a wide variety of conditions, including ear infectionshearing losstinnitus (ringing in the ears), sinusitisallergiestonsillitisswallowing problemshead and neck painfacial injurieshead and neck cancers, and more. 

Caring for your Hearing Aids

We recommend you come in for a Hearing Aid Clean and Check every 6 months. In between visits patients should brush out their microphones, change their wax filters and domes on a regular basis. Dirty Hearing Aids can impact their overall function, if you need supplies to care for your hearing Aids you can come into the office and we will help you get what you need.

ENT vs Audiologist

There are some similarities between the services offered by audiologists and ENTs and this can muddy the waters and lead to confusion as to which is best suited to meet your needs. Both audiologists and ENTs deal with issues of the ear canal and inner ear. Both are able to make diagnoses and administer a range of treatments. However, an audiologist will have a more specific knowledge towards how these parts of your body pertain specifically to your hearing rather than to your overall health.

What is Tinnitus? 

 

Tinnitus (tin-NY-tus) is the ringing of the ears is a symptom associated with many forms of hearing loss. It can also be a symptom of other health problems. Roughly 25 million Americans have experienced ringing in the ears. Some cases are so severe that it interferes with their daily act.

Walk in Appointments

We accept walk-ins  Monday-Friday between 8AM-3:30PM. If you feel like your Hearing Aids aren't working well bring them in and our Hearing Aid Technician can work on them. During a walk-in appointment our technician will clean your Hearing Aids, listen to them to check for issues, update the firmware, and diagnose the issue so we can get them working for you. If you purchased your Hearing Aids from a different office there is a $35 charge for service.
